Как правильно спланировать положение розеток в квартире

Comfortable living in a modern apartment largely depends on how correctly the electrical outlets are located in it. It is very important to think over the circuit of electrical points before you start repairing. Changes to outlet positions and wiring later in the repair process can incur significant additional costs. The number of outlets in each room also plays an important role. It is worth calculating in advance how much equipment will be connected in a particular zone, so that later on, to a minimum extent, use extension cords and splitters.

Kitchen

The kitchen is perhaps the most energy-consuming room. This will most likely contain the maximum number of outlets. Here is a list of electrical appliances under which electrical points should be laid:

  • Stove or hob
  • Oven cabinet
  • Refrigerator
  • Dishwasher
  • Microwave
  • Vextraction
  • Air conditioner
  • Kettle
  • Coffee maker
  • Multicooker
  • Blender
  • Toaster
  • Lighting
  • Other small household appliances

You may not be planning to install all of the items on this list at this stage, but there is no guarantee that you will hesitate to add them in the future. Therefore, it is better to install several more sockets. You can take into account that not all small equipment will be connected at the same time. It is better to place sockets for built-in appliances behind adjacent cabinets. It is not recommended to place them directly behind household appliances. The usual height of sockets for built-in household appliances is about 30-60 cm. Sockets for small appliances are best installed above the worktop at a height of 10-30 cm. Positions above the sink and stove are also not recommended. It is desirable that these are models of outlets with protection against moisture. Additionally, you will need a TV outlet located directly behind it. Do not forget about the power outlets in case you need to install a table lamp, plug in a phone charger, laptop or vacuum cleaner.

Bedroom

First of all, there should be sockets on either side of the bed. Here you will connect the lamp on the bedside table, charge your phone, laptop or e-book. It is very convenient indeed. The position of the remaining outlets depends on the furniture and bedroom design. These can be electric points for a TV, laptop or computer, installed above the table. Of course, you will need sockets to connect additional devices. It is better to place them in an easily accessible place at a height of about 50-80 cm from the floor.

Children

Requirements for outlets here are similar to recommendations for placing them in the bedroom. These are sockets in the immediate vicinity of the bedside table, in the desktop area and several easily accessible outlets for connecting non-permanent electrical appliances. Outlets with protective covers can be placed in this room.

Living room

A rare living room today does without a TV. Plan an outlet for it at a height of about 130-150 cm. Thus, it will be covered by a screen. You may also need sockets for a game console, turntable, speaker system. It is better to hide them behind the curbstone or place them in the immediate vicinity of it. The sockets near the sofa in the recreation area can be useful for charging gadgets and connecting lamps. Do not forget about the power supply for the air conditioner, humidifier, and other appliances that you intend to use in the living room. Remember that most of these appliances have a fairly short power cord.

Bathroom

Here it is desirable to make all the sockets waterproof. The minimum distance from water sources is 60 cm. You will need sockets in the washbasin area. This is at least one for small appliances such as a hair dryer, curling iron, razor and one for connecting mirror illumination. Outlets for larger household appliances such as a washing machine and water heater are located in close proximity to their location. Do not forget about the often insufficient length of the power cords of such electrical appliances. You may need a heated towel rail socket.

Hallway

Here you can get by with a minimum of electrical outlets. Appliances that can be used in the hallway are a vacuum cleaner, wi-fi router, shoe dryer, lighting.

Conclusions

The pre-planned position of the outlets will undoubtedly make living in the apartment more comfortable and save you from additional costs. The average number of electrical appliances used at home has increased markedly in the past few years. The requirements for the power supply system have also grown. We advise you to entrust the planning of your power points to professionals. This will save time initially and money throughout the entire renovation.
